Sri Varahi Navaratri / āṣāḍha gupta navarātrī ( आषाढ गुप्त नवरात्री )
The month of āṣāḍha in the Lunar calendar, falls during June and July and sometimes may end in August. This month is generally considered inauspicious for any undertaking related to material affairs. It is the belief that most undertakings that begin during this month, face great hurdles and some may eventually fail. Some religious matters are also postponed and not conducted during this month (āṣāḍha māsa), due to this very reason. Having said that, Ashada Navaratri is considered excellent time for Spiritual pursuits and progress. The second part of this lunar month starting with the first day of the waxing moon, marks the first day of the secret navarātrī, or the nine nights of Śrī Vārāhī, Śrī Durga and also Śrī Lalita for the destruction of all enemies, internal and external.
In the year 2024, the event is between 6th July to 15th July 2024 in the Eastern Hemisphere. One can check on www. Drikpanchang.com, to determine the exact date and time of the start of the event, pertaining to their location.
Navratri: Navratri or 9 Nights of Goddess are considered very important for Shaktas (who worship Divine Mother in the form of Shakti) in order to receive receive blessings of Maa Shakti in various forms such as Sri Durga, Sri Varahi, Sri Lalitha Tripurasundari, Sri Shakambari, Sri Chamunda etc. Some worship 9 forms of Durga also called as Nava Durga on the each day of Navaratri.
Gupt Navratri: There are 5 Navratris in a year that are considered important (while some say 4) out of which Sharad Navatri and Magha Navratri are popular and known to all and remaining 3 are considered secretive and generally observed by advanced Spiritual practioners .
Sharad Navaratri: This is the most important of the Navaratris and is synonymous with Dussehra and Durga Puja. It is celebrated during September–October
Vasanta Navaratri: In the month of Chaitra (March–April) and is observed during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) of Chaitra. The beginning of this Navaratri also marks the start of the new year as per the Hindu mythological lunar calendar and Sri Rama Navami is celebrated during this Navaratri
Ashad Navaratri : Ashad Navaratri, also referred to as Gupta, Gayatri or Shakambhari Navaratri, is observed during the Asadha month and is mostly observed by shaktas only
Pausha Navaratri: Paush Navaratri is another Gupt Navaratri observed during the Pausha Shukla Paksha, in the month of December–January.
Magha Navaratri: This Navaratri is also a kind of Gupta Navaratri. The waxing phase of moon in January–February marks the beginning of Magha Navaratri. Vasant Panchami is celebrated during these Navaratri.
In order to progress in the spiritual path, One needs to obtain a great degree of concentration and calmness of the mind. The thoughts that clog the mind, usually relate to our desires as well as difficulties that we face on a day to day basis. Our inherent nature consisting of our ego, pride, anger, jealousy, stubbornness, lust, likes and dislikes etc, as well as our wealth, health, family and desires dominate our thinking and thus control the mind. To silence the mind, we need to silence the thoughts. The thoughts are difficult to silence, especially when we are preoccupied in our material affairs. These issues therefore become our internal enemies and some of them could be triggered by external elements as well.
True knowledge, unlearning of what we believe to be right vs what really is right, as well as appropriate action will surely lead us towards self-realization.
Rājā Mātaṅgi represents True spiritual knowledge and is the left spiritual channel iḍa nāḍi, Vārāhi represents the right spiritual channel piṅgala nāḍi representing the correct action that needs to be undertaken towards spiritual progress. When both the channels that flank the central suṣumna nāḍi or the spinal cord are balanced, then the kuṇḍalini rises from the mulādhāra or the root cakra and journeys it’s way towards the crown sahasrāra cakra gradually.
The āṣāḍha gupta navarātrī-s are also called Vārāhi navarātrī-s, when the energy of Śrī Vārāhī is considered to be very latent and effective. Propitiating Her during these 9 nights is very auspicious and may help accelerate the achievement of both our spiritual and material desires and provide immense and everlasting happiness. For the year 2024, āṣāḍha gupta navarātrī-s start on 6th July to 15th July in the Eastern Hemisphere.
The following dhyāna śloka can be recited by anyone, to meditate upon Her.
kṛṣṇa varṇātu vārāhī mahiṣastā mahodarī ।
varadā danḍinī khaḍgaṃ bibhratī dakṣiṇekare ।

In general, they all belong to Durga devi. Only two of them such as āṣāḍha for Vārāhi and Magha for Mātaṅgi and Kāli, as śyāma, are noted. (https://www.manblunder.com/articlesview/magha-gupta-navaratri).

Would you please advice/comment on which of the following is best or usually practiced by Sadhakas who are initiated in to Mahashodashi during Gupth Navarathri ? a) Ghatasthapana and then each Morning (for 9 days) : Panachadashi, Shodashi or Maha Shodashi (with Kavacham, nyasa, mantra) followed by Khadgamala stotram . Then Havan with Nava Durga mantras and Havan with Lalita Trisathi. Evening : Nava Durga Puja, mantra chant and conclude by Lalita Trisathi. b) Same as mentioned in above section (a) along with Vārāhi kavacha/mantras for āṣāḍha Gupth Navarathri. For Magha Gupth Navarathri Mātaṅgi along with Kāli, as śyāma. c) Any combination from above is ok ? Any article/books on high level steps or detailed steps to follow during Gupth Navarathri ? Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge.

The gupta navarātri-s are specific to certain deities and mantras related to their aṅga devata-s, would be more fulfilling during these times. Not much is written about Gupta Navarātri-s that I am aware of in the books.

Hello, is it possible to write on a small piece of paper Narasimha Kavacham or Mantra Rajapada Stotram or just Raja mantra and put in the middle of such a plant a photo I will provide at the end. Locals in the city of Pomirie call this plant "Sea Devil", they say that it grows to a depth of about 100-150 meters and from time to time the sea (Black Sea) carries these seeds which it reproduces, they look like the head of a demon with horns. Thanks for the answer, here is the photo: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nXa3SFFrcmynKRT3jMHNu0dgKBBuMNkU/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nW2UTVOVt1Fp_i35Lq7JPm0BuhQPuxwe/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nVUm4gQ9mG-wEanGSJfPj_FxDgVueHw7/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nUyAcbJnnKqh8Ywrq735YJ9MuREqQdKc/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nUdxwnbVsnJOMfk-kKda8TFUjkraLUjL/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nTzYW4kTkgtfJ7tYwuiHAc4zxRdNOvEv/view?usp=drivesdk

Thanks for the reply please tell me which version of Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is correct. Here https://youtu.be/Usi1qTqwPgU is a longer version and writes that this is the full version of Upanishad and differs from others not so much that it is longer and the pronunciation of the first word "tryambakam" it is pronounced as "trayambakee" not "trayambakam". This version is longer than the one that everyone knows on the Internet. Another version is taken from this site http://www.kamakotimandali.com/blog/index.php?p=1718&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 and it is very long compared to the well-known Mahamrityunjaya Mantra by 4 lines and the first word in her "trayambakam" is read. The question is what is the correct pronunciation of the first word because in different places it is pronounced differently and which version of Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is best read?

You may recite Her Gāyatri mantra(s) or the Vedic mantra specified in the post. Those who are initiated into Her mantras should consider the yantra pūja during these nine auspicious nights.

Hello, on the occasion of Navaratri, I want to ask you what is the correct version of sloka that is in this document https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uijUuMrXx5YanJO7d37JJRrwwLQG8an0/view?usp=drivesdk. In it on page 4, under number 17, writes — ,,By sampuṭa of the śloka ityuktvā sā tadā devī, one is blessed with knowledge.'' This document provides only part of the sloka ,, ityuktvā sā tadā devī '' I tried to find its full version one ,,ityuktvā sā tadā devī tarasāntarhitā'bhavat | cāṇḍamuṇḍau tu tāndevīmadrāṣṭāṃ sevakau tayoḥ || 17 ||'' - This version is from Shiva Purana https://www.wisdomlib.org/hinduism/book/shiva-purana-sanskrit/d/doc402909.html. Another version is available in śrīśāradāmāhātmyam https://sanskritdocuments.org/doc_devii/shAradAmAhAtmyam.html?lang=iast. Here it is - ,,ityuktvā śāṇḍilyamuniṃ devī cāntardadhe tadā smṛtvā vaco mahādevyāḥ śyāmalāyā munīśvaraḥ''. Please tell me which of them is mentioned in the document where I got this sloka? Which of these 2 slokas should be read front and back before each verse of Durga Saptashati? The document is taken from here http://www.kamakotimandali.com/blog/index.php?p=1221&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 This document lists only a few words of this sloka ,, ityuktvā sā tadā devī '' when I tried to find the full version I found 2 or 3 different similar sloka, please help me to understand which version is correct.

There are different versions available for many stotras. It is very difficult to establish which one is most authentic and must be followed. It is therefore suggested to obtain from a practicing guru and follow the advise of the guru on these matters. I am not an expert on Durga Saptaśati and its various methods of chanting, so I am unable to answer to your satisfaction.

Hello Sir, will you publish new articles related to Varahi (for example: Mantra Sadhana) to - Ashadha Gupta Navratri 2021? Can you say the bija mantra of Varahi, is it Glauṁ or Aiṁ Glauṁ? Already listed Varahi Mantra Sadhanas on the website which you would recommend to do during Ashadha Gupta Navratri 2021? Many of them need to be read 100,000 times, which is possible in 10 days.

The articles related to Śrī Vārāhī Devi are in this folder - https://www.manblunder.com/articles/srivarahidevi. There are no specific mantras or order in which to recite, specifically during the Āṣāḍha Gupta Navarātrī. Those who are initiated into Her mantras, should strive to do at least one mālā of all the initiated mantras during this time.
