Salutations to the One Who is the destroyer of Mahiṣāsura, the buffalo-faced asura with demonic qualities. Such qualities as stubbornness , laziness, and continuing to remain in the same old path and refusing to change for the better,  are equated with the  buffalo, which always prefers a dirty pond to a clear water lake. Kamala is the One Who removes all such negative traits in us and helps us achieve great heights and accomplish all our cherished wishes, desires and goals.

ॐ कालरात्र्यै नमः।

Salutations to the One Who is the Supreme darkness from which emerges the light that sustains all Creation. She is the highest state of consciousness also called “Turiyā,” which is a pure blissful state where nothing exists but pure joy and bliss.

ॐ कुह्वै नमः।

Salutations to the One Who represents the dark moon night and the waning phases of the moon. She's also the One with a shrieking sound that dispels all evil and enemies. She is the One Who is devoid of all afflictions and is pure bliss. She is with and without attributes.

Salutations to the One Who represents the full moon night and is the Complete Whole of Creation.

Madhu and Kaiṭabha represent intoxicated pride and ego, as well as a noxious and annoying attitude that comes from it, which can completely vanish by Her side glance and the grace that emanates from it, leading to the kuṇḍalini activation and the true experience of the expansion of consciousness.

Salutations to the One Who has vanquished the asuras Śumbha and Niśumbha. The twins Śumbha and Niśumbha represent our tendency to stick to the same old routine of living and leading life on a day to day basis in the material world, without considering to make the step towards embarking on the right spiritual journey. She gives the nudge in Her own ways as Mahāmāyā and releases us from all the karma and bondage, cause and effect.
