Dvisahasrākṣari mahā pratyaṅgirā khaḍgamālā stotra mantraḥ (द्विसहस्राक्षरि महा प्रत्यङ्गिरा खड्गमाला स्तोत्र मन्त्रः)
Prologue –
The Divine Mother Śrī Pratyaṅgirā Devi in Her most aggressive avatar is referenced as Mahā Pratyaṅgirā or Atharvaṇa Bhadrakāḻi, the protector of the Atharvaṇa Veda and all it’s secretive incantations. The Khaḍgamālā stotram consists of all the attributes and deities associated with the yantra (mystical diagram) of Śrī Mahā Pratyaṅgirā Devi and is treated by itself, as a two thousand lettered mantra. Reciting this mantra for a week on a daily basis, is said to bring huge benefits and if recited for a longer time, may help the devotee overcome all difficulties in life, remove all types of afflictions caused by planetary formation in one’s horoscope, removal of all types of black magic and incantations performed against the person, as well as for fulfillment of all material and spiritual desires.
The only restriction, is that one must be initiated into any of the Śrī Pratyaṅgirā Devi mantras and also to the Śrī Mahā Pratyaṅgirā Devi mantras. She is a very aggressive form of the Divine Mother and it is not safe to recite this mantra without a proper initiation as sadhaka might not be able to withstand the energies of Divine Mother. Her Ugra form is only to clear our deep-rooted sticky karmas and make us proceed towards Moksha. Śrī Pratyaṅgirā Devi mantras are generally given to the Śrī Vidya devotees who are facing many difficulties and in need of protection. By default, Śrī Pratyaṅgirā Devi will protect all Śrī Vidya devotees (upāsaka-s) and an initiation is generally not required. There is also no necessity for Śrī Vidya devotees, to recite this mantra, if there are no major hurdles in their life.
1. ślokaḥ (श्लोकः) –

We meditate on the terrifying form of the Divine Mother Śrī Pratyaṅgirā, who is seated on a lion, has a lion face and is the consort of Śrī Bhairava. She holds in Her hands, a trident, arrows, a skull shaped bowl, a noose, a musical drum and a lotus entwined in Her fingers. She has very sharp diamond teeth many billions in count and a very wide gaping mouth. She has three blood red eyes displaying Her anger and aggression, also signifying the activation of the ājñā cakra. She is very dark like the new moon night and is the cause of annhilation. She is adorned by the moon on Her forehead lending further lustre on Her.
śrī vidyāṃ madhurāṃ kālīṃ mahā pratyaṅgirāṃ śubhām kapāla śūla ḍamaru nāga-pāśam ca bibhratīm ।

The nectar of śrī vidyā is the Divine Mother Kālī, the One who is beyond all dimensions of space and time, manifested as Mahā Pratyaṅgirā heralding auspiciousness and complete transformation of one’s fate. She is holding a skull representing Her role as the Creator, a trident indicating the various triads manifested all over the entire Creation and Her role as the Preserver, a drum indicating all the vibrations and frequencies of sound projected everywhere in the entire Creation, a stick shaped like a snake, indicating the spinal cord and the various spiritual channels (nāḍi-s), that help with the activation of the spiritual cakras and the flow of the Kuṇḍalini energy, from the bottom of the spine to the top of the head.
She is mounted on a ferocious lion and She Herself is emitting fire from the mouth, representing the flow of all light and energy from Her to the entire Creation. She is the Divine Mother and the source of all wealth, prosperity and auspiciousness. She brings peace and calmness at all times, to Her sincere devotees, who meditate upon Her and heaps all types of treasures upon them. There will be no dearth of anything to Her devotees, who manage to obtain Her grace.

Meaning – Oh Divine Mother Pratyaṅgirā Devi, the source of the lustre of Lord Śaṅkara (Śiva), you are the cause of Creation as Brāhmi, the consort and power of Lord Brahma, the Creator. We meditate upon Her holding the ultimate weapon of destruction Brahmāstra and a sword to slash the ego and completely annihilate all types of enemies, internal and external. She is enormous and infinite, clothed by the entire Creation itself, wavy and loosened hair representing all the energies manifested in the Creation, complexion and appearance resembling dark clouds, holding a sword and a shield in Her hands and is decorated with ornaments around the arms. She has enormous diamond like teeth and a very wide gaping mouth. She takes in all the negative and inimical forces and frees us from all karmas impacting our progress. Glory be to the Divine Mother, who is resplendent with the spiritual energy of Lord Śaṅkara/Śiva.

Dear Friends@manblunder.com , I have been searching for the sanskrit ( devanagri) script version of this pratyangira khdgamala since years !!! ( seriously). Thank you sadhaks for posting this rare gem !! I have been into srividya since 1997. stopped it since last year , started pratyangira sadhana . Although not directly initiated, I got the moola mantra from a book written by my srividya-guru ( given by him to his students - tamil book ). Hoping to start this khadgmala from 28th sep 2019, and continue thru out Navarathri sadhana . Please wish me success in this sadhana ( I am totally wiped out ) . Thanks again and regards Suresh. The Divine Mother Pratyaṅgirā Devi protects all Śrī Vidyā worshippers. You may still continue your Śrī Vidyā sādhana and seek the blessings of Śrī Pratyaṅgirā Devi through this stotram/mantra.

It is best to perform the havan for a mantra that you have been practicing for a long time. If you haven't, then you can consider performing Śrī Sudarśana Homam with the help of a qualified priest in your home or at a temple. If the priest is a sādhaka or guru, then it is even better. Most of the troubles that we go through are a result of our karma and they inevitably guide us to the Divine to seek solace obtain the Divine Grace. In these situations, it is best to approach a guru with an open mind and seek solutions. Powerful deities such as Śrī Vārāhī should be approached through Śrī Vidyā and Śrī Pratyaṅgirā through Kālī Krama. The most powerful mantras are seldom effective on non-initiates and are always the most difficult ones to yield results. Their results are definitely overwhelming, but not within reach for most of us including myself. I would certainly recommend starting small and following any school of mantra śāstra that you have a strong liking towards. It is most important to find an able guru who is well versed with the procedures and is able to guide you. Ideally, it is best to learn from a guru in person to master the mudras, nyāsas etc., as well as to clear any doubts that you may have.

There is no audio that I can find anywhere. This mantra constitutes the āvaraṇa pūja of Mahā Pratyaṅgirā Devi. Initiation to Her mantrasis a pre-requisite for this longer mālā mantra. It is not necessary or compulsory for Śrī Vidyā worshippers. But can definitely be taken up by those facing insurmountable difficulties. My recommendation would be to go for the kavacam, followed by any of Her mantras and then proceed to this stotram/mantra. Initiation can be provided for serious aspirants.

It is a very noble thought and I pray to the Divine Mother sincerely to make it happen for you! You must understand, that everyone of us carries our own karmic burden and not necessarily of our parents, though some of which may have come from our pitṛ-s (ancestors). It is natural for us to wish the best for our descendants and live with the same hope. What is more apt, is to educate and make the future generations aware of the effects of karma and the need for leading a moralistic life and the reasons to seek spiritual salvation. For us to remove our own doṣa-s (miseries), we can take refuge in mantra japa, as one of the most effective remedies. It will bring respite to us, as well as to the entire family and immediate surroundings even, when siddhi happens. We need to perform the mantra japa with utmost sincerity, faith and dedication. It may take some time for the karmic barriers to break, but they will, with the grace of the Divine Mother. If you have such hope and resolve, you will surely succeed. This is from my own first hand experience with mantra japa.

Hello, I will not read "Sri Maha Prathyangira Khadgamala Stotram" in the near future, but I wonder what bija mantra should be "kṣmraum̐" or "kṣraum̐"? And what does each of them mean, "kṣraum̐" bija Narasimha she provides protection but unfortunately that's all I know about her and bija ,, kṣmraum̐ '' I see for the first time.

The seed syllable (bīja) for Śrī Pratyaṅgirā devi is "kṣam̐" and She is also power and śakti of Lord Nṛsiṃha, whose bīja is "kṣraum̐". When you combine both and see Her as the embodiment of it, you get the "kṣmraum̐" bīja.

The letter 'm̐' is nothing but the bindu and it should come at the very end of the bīja, that is why there's only one of them.

When you see a 'ā', it is usually a 'a + a' and the word can be split in such a manner. For example, 'mayūkāvṛte' becomes 'mayūka' + 'avṛte', meaning a peacock and its circle of feathers when dancing. The Divine Mother offers a 360 degree protection, is to be gleaned from it. When we see a word like 'kālasyollāsinīm', the 'o' can be split as 'a + u', such as 'kālasya' + 'ullāsinīm', meaning prevalent and delighted at all times. Sometimes the words cannot be split just like that or an incorrect split can change the meaning.

Who has more authority, Lalita or Maha Pratyangira? According to this stotra, all forms of Kali are in the strength of Maha Pratyangira. Honestly, looking more closely I have the impression that everything is in her strength. Even Sharabha, Shulini, Dandini and all Bhairavas are mentioned in the stotra. The stotra seems to combine the destructive powers of Mahavishnu Paramashiva and AdiParashakti. Very scary. Who has more authority, Lalita or Maha Pratyangira?

We read about higher places like Sidhhashram, where higher Yogis,, Sidhhas are doing Sadhanas. They must have reached there by achieving high level Spiritually. I believe there is a lot we don't even have glimpse of, is being meditated, taught & penance is done. Please share if you have any idea of such higher sadhana. It may be out of our reach or capacity. Pranaam Loraan, an awesome explanation of presence of Maa Pratyangira at various stages. Without Her lots of things are not possible. An extremely well organised Universal management is orchestrated by Higher Powers. For every soul, a plan is charted. They take us to various levels only to inspire to move up. "Pratyangira namasyaami Sidhhilakshmi jayapradaam." If possible, please elaborate on this Divine universal management system. Thanks in advance.

I will tell the exact origin of Mahā Pratyaṅgirā. This form of the Divine Mother arose from Guhya Kāli. Divine Mother Guhya Kāli has her abode beyond the Parabrahman and no one knows her true and most powerful form. Nobody knows where Guhya Kāli came from. She was simply already there beyond the Parabrahman. She is the Divine Mother of secrets that can break all rules. The devotee of Guhya Kāli can ask for the secret to reach any goal to be revealed, there is no limit to what he can ask for, however absurd it may be. From Guhya Kāli there will always arise a form that no one has ever seen before, but never for nothing, there will always be a reason. Mahā Pratyaṅgirā emerged from Guhya Kāli to restore the Sattva between Śarabha and Gaṇḍabheruṇḍa and protect the balance and functioning of the universes. After solving this problem, Mahā Pratyaṅgirā remains accessible to this day as the most drastic solution to restore Sattva when necessary. For the time being, there is no deity more aggressive than Mahā Pratyaṅgirā, but there will certainly be a more aggressive one if necessary. The deity responsible for giving rise to these unprecedented forms is Guhya Kāli. It was Lalitāmbika who asked Kāmakalā Kāli to give the order to Guhya Kāli to create Mahā Pratyaṅgirā. Lalitāmbika and Kāmakalā Kāli are two queens who constantly dialogue to deal with the needs of governing the universe. They are two sisters who love each other very much. Those who conspire against Lalitāmbika will know the fury of Kāmakalā Kāli and Mahā Pratyaṅgirā. These two love Lalitāmbika very much. If all means are insufficient, Guhya Kāli is called upon to reveal the secret to solving anything and breaking all rules. Despite the indefinite power of Guhya Kāli and the tremendous aggressiveness of Mahā Pratyaṅgirā, both are under the rule of Lalitāmbika and Kāmakalā Kāli. It's not about who is more powerful, it's about organization. All are the same Devi. Thus I revealed for the first time the true origin of Mahā Pratyaṅgirā, as the fruit of merit.

Thank you for sharing such valuable information with us, is it possible to repeat mantras and chant hymns of Guhya Kali, Pratyangira, Kamakalakali for the common good, to glorify such forms of the Divine Mother and not only to destroy external enemies as many do or believe that worship of these Goddesses is meant to do? I found the following answer on Quora - "Gandaberunda Narasimha Swamy took Soolini Pratyangira and Sarabeswara and put them on his lap and tore them with his 36 Crore divine hands and wore their bloody hide as his Mala and made them into ashes with his third eye", how can this be? A person writes that Gandaberunda Narasimha killed Sharabha, Schulini and Pratyangira is this even possible, you wrote that Pratyangira stopped Gandaberunda Narasimha and Sharabha? Vaiṣṇava sādhakas quote some lesser known and accepted texts and claim superiority of their deity. The very purpose of Lord Śarabha was to calm Lord Nṛsiṁha and to remind Him that the purpose of His avatār is complete. The widely accepted Śarabha texts talk of a very fierce battle between these two deities and their battle was brought to an end by the mere laughter of the Divine Mother Pratyaṅgirā. If this were not true, then the world we know would have been completely destroyed by the fury of Lord Nṛsiṁha, who at that point of time was uncontrollable. If you look at the iconography of Lord Śarabha, you will notice that He holds Lord Nṛsiṁha in one of His limbs and takes Him to Kailāśa to reprimand and calm Him down. Lord Nṛsiṁha is one of my favorite deities and we as a Vaiṣṇava family have a history of His worship. It is our responsibility to reveal the Truth and not remain under a cloud of doubt or false beliefs. The task of destruction and transformation is associated with Lord Rudrā and is not the domain of Lord Viṣṇu. His avatārs become necessary when sustenance of the worlds is at a great peril and there is too much evil vs good. It can only be the command of the Divine Mother Guhyakāli, who is also associated with Lord Nṛsiṁha, to absorb any of Her higher forms into Herself and it is not up to the individual forms to eliminate themselves.

Thank you Krishna. Your answer is absolutely correct. I can say with certainty that the Divine Mother and Lord Viṣṇu are not happy with Vaiṣṇava Sādhakas who think and speak these lies. These kinds of lies reveal tamasic tendencies in the devotee and generate great sins. It is very dangerous to lie especially about Divine Mother Mahā Pratyaṅgirā who is the worst nightmare of people with tamasic tendencies. She is so aggressive in her action that simply by remembering her form and telling her your problems with sincerity, they will be solved. Even without reciting her mantras. These extremely powerful deities are too dangerous to approach without the care of a qualified Guru. This is especially true when it comes to Divine Mother Guhya Kāli who is the owner of the most frightening and destructive Nyāsa who places in the devotee's body 51 forms of Nṛsim̐ha and 51 forms of Bhairava holding 51 different types of Astras (weapons of mass destruction) . This is also true in the case of Kāmakalā Kāli. It was because of the Kāmakalākālī Trailokyākarṣaṇa Mahāmantra (18 syllables) that Rāvaṇa was able to capture Sītā by force. Obviously he got the karma he deserved after that. For lesser purposes it is better not to meditate on these deities at all, just thinking about their form invokes great power that you may not be able to handle. It is much better to approach Lalitāmbika with the help of a Guru. These other deities are for very advanced devotees and with the permission of the Guru.

Finding Mahā Pratyaṅgirā in Kali-Yuga is like finding water in the desert. You won't have better luck than finding out her name. An ordinary person who is perfectly good, full of Sattva and who knows Pratyaṅgirā is invincible. Pratyaṅgirā is always prepared to crush the pride of any being who does Adharma. No one is powerful before her. It doesn't matter if you are a Yogi or a Mahā Siddha, no matter how powerful you are, if you mistreat a single innocent person and that person invokes the name of Pratyaṅgirā, you are finished. One of her names is "Mahā Krūra" (the cruelest in fighting injustice). She won't tolerate you harassing someone innocent who knows her. Upon hearing her name, those people who do black magic against innocent people tremble in fear. If you found this site and met Pratyaṅgirā, you are very lucky. Call her name with devotion and you will be able to bring down any evildoer.

I will ask readers of this site to look carefully at the structure of this Khaḍgamālā/Yantra of Sovereign Queen (Parābhaṭṭārikā) and Independent (Svatantra) Mahā Pratyaṅgirā. Did you not notice anything familiar in this Khaḍgamālā/Yantra? This Yantra and Śrī Cakra are the same. Look closer and you will realize that you are looking at Śrī Cakra, but in reverse, just like two sides of the same coin. You have probably never been told that the Yantra of Mahā Pratyaṅgirā and Śrī Cakra are the same. The Sankalpa gives another tip: tena śrī vidyā mahā ṣoḍaśī mahā pratyaṅgirā mahā kālīṃ praṇayāmi ॥ This means: "We bow reverently to the Divine Mother Śakti, manifested in her multitude forms as Śrī Vidyā Mahā Ṣoḍaśī (Lalitāmbikā), Mahā Pratyaṅgirā (Atharvaṇa Bhadrakāḻi) and Mahā Kālī (Guhya Kālī)." Did you realize the connection of these three deities? Meditate on it.

Namaste. Your statement is correct. They are manifestations of the same Mahāśakti. Atharvaṇa Bhadrakāḻi is Mahā Pratyaṅgirā. Grace Siddhi is the perfection bestowed by Graceśakti who is Mahāśakti. Grace Siddhi is the perfection attained by those who have become so pure and full of light that it is impossible for him to have enemies. They have become so pure and full of light that they become more and more powerful continuously and perpetually. Just as the supreme personality of God is unattainable because it is continually growing, these perfect souls are endowed with unattainable power because they have become the biune form of that God. They have given up everything and don't need to practice anything else. Even if they don't practice anything, they have already become Grace itself and become more and more powerful automatically. They grow more and more perpetually. Grace Siddhi is when God decides, of his own free will, to become the biune form of a specific soul. This is a gift that is received by those who have become so pure in heart that God simply gives himself to them. Only these souls can declare themselves perfect. They have surpassed all concepts of justice and are above justice itself. Only these souls have the highest respect from Mahā Pratyaṅgirā. Divine Mother Mahā Pratyaṅgirā can discipline all the great souls in this universe, except those who have Grace Siddhi, because they have become the example to be followed by the entire universe. You will receive Grace Siddhi when your heart becomes the example that all universes should follow. Then you will receive this gift and become the biune body of God. Great Sages who received this gift were Vallalar and Thirumoolar.

Thank you very much for your answer! Earlier you said: "...First I will tell you a secret about Kāmakalākāḻī and Lalitā. During the Day, Śrīdevī is Tripura Sundarī. During the Night, Śrīdevī is Kāmakalākāḻī...." In the Lalitopākhyānam, Mantriṇī and Daṇḍanāthā said: किं भर्तृदारिके युद्धे व्यवसायः कृतस्त्वया । अकाण्डे किं महाराज्ञ्या प्रेषितासि रणं प्रति ॥३,२६.९१॥ kiṃ bhartṛdārike yuddhe vyavasāyaḥ kṛtastvayā । akāṇḍe kiṃ mahārājñyā preṣitāsi raṇaṃ prati ॥3,26.91॥ "Why, O princess, have you actively engaged yourself in battle? Why are you suddenly despatched to the war front by the great queen herself?" तदेतदुचितंनैव वर्तमानेऽपि सैनिके । त्वं मूर्तं जीवितमसि श्रीदेव्या बालिके यतः ॥३,२६.९२॥ tadetaducitaṃnaiva vartamāne'pi sainike । tvaṃ mūrtaṃ jīvitamasi śrīdevyā bālike yataḥ ॥3,26.92॥ "When the soldiers are present and ready, this is not proper. Since you, O girl, are the personified life of Śrīdevī, recede from your enthusiastic participation in war. We are making obeisance to you." Question: Does this mean that Bālā Tripura Sundarī is the personified life not only of Lalitā (Śrīdevī) but also of Kāmakalākāḻī, since She is Śrīdevī at night? Is Lalitā and Kāmakalākāṁ and Bālā (who is the very personified life absolutely indistinguishable from Śrīdevī) actually one Great Goddess (Śrīdevī) who manifests in different forms depending on the time, place and divine play (Līlā) that She wants to manifest? Are Lalitā, Kāmakalākāḻī and Bālā actually one, is it one Goddess who manifests in different forms? Are all the countless universes actually the Great Game of the Divine Mother from which She enjoys? Is this true, thank you for your answer!

The most attentive devotee will find that reversing the position of the Yoni of the Śrī Chakra will cause the entire structure to transform into the Yantra of Atharvaṇa Bhadrakālī. The Yoni of Lalitā is the Yoni of Life and the Yoni of Atharvaṇa Bhadrakālī is the Yoni of Death. The intelligent devotee will say that the Yantra of Atharvaṇa Bhadrakālī is the enemy of Śrī Chakra, that is, it is endowed with the power of Śrī Chakra and can oppose the entire Śrī Chakra. But this is all part of Lalitā's game, as it was she who bestowed this boon on Atharvaṇa Bhadrakālī. The power to oppose even Lalitā. But this is all part of the game for Lalitā's own pleasure. Whoever understands this has understood the Śrī Chakra. The devotee will begin to understand how he can simply subdue the entire structure of the Śrī Chakra and quickly liberate himself. He can do many things after discovering the Yoni of Death. He can cut corners and hasten his own release.

Atharvaṇa Bhadrakālī is really impressive, but are you ready to welcome her into your home? It's like welcoming one of the highest authorities into your home. It's not your will that will make her come to your house and help you, but the quality of her actions and your heart that can make her find you worthy. Otherwise there is nothing else in this universe that can make her come to you.

For those who are still in doubt about the truth of what I am talking about, first consult Lalitā Sahasranāma 237 (mahā-catuḥ-ṣaṣti-koṭi-yoginī-gana-sevithā). That name says that Lalitā is served by 640 million Yoginīs. But where are these attendants? Now look at Atharvaṇa Bhadrakālī Yantra. The Yantra of Mahā Pratyaṅgirā is also composed of Nine Layers (Āvaraṇas). The first eight Āvaraṇas have 80 million Yoginīs each, making a total of 640 million. In the ninth Āvaraṇa (Maha Bindu) there are 640 million more Yoginīs accompanied by 640 million Bhairavīs. By means of this war formation, Atharvaṇa Bhadrakālī is saying, "I can do whatever the Śrī Cakra does and at the same time oppose every power present in it as well." In this way I believe it is clear to everyone who Atharvaṇa Bhadrakālī is.

Lastly. The most common thing that happens if someone starts reciting her root mantra is that bad things start to happen. Why? Other souls and creation itself will begin to fear this person, even if unconsciously. People will start fighting with you for trivial reasons. Other souls and creation will not feel very comfortable with you walking around with a nuclear bomb pointed at them. Only if your heart is exceedingly pure will souls and creation feel safe around you practicing a Vidya of this caliber. Who can blame them? Let a bad person practice this and he will blow himself up and the people around him. This is a Vidya for very pure hearts. I have this knowledge, but I don't practice it. I only pray to Lalitambika because it's easier to deal with other souls saying "if you make mistakes I will forgive you most of the time"; instead of: "I will drop a bomb of mass destruction on you if you make a mistake." Over time, the devotee begins to realize that gaining the respect of creation through fear may not be a good idea. Atharvana Bhadrakali is a Vidya for very specific and transitory situations. It won't be your fault, but everyone is struggling to overcome their own sins and they don't want a nuclear bomb pointed at them that will explode if they make a mistake.

You can recite the Stava Rajah and the 108 names by meditating on it with great respect and following the correct path. Atharvana Bhadrakali and Maha Viparita Pratyangira do not have simple root mantra. All of them are the most extreme mantras one can practice. There are many Vidyas to solve our problems but this one is the most extreme as Lord Shiva himself says. Even the Stava Rajah should only be recited if you have an emergency. The 108 names can be meditated on regularly.

I'm not sure why you want to worship her specifically. It seems reasonable to worship her only in imminently life-threatening cases. It seems kind of complicated to adore her regularly and manage to have a normal life. Her devotees rarely get to live a normal life.

Namaste Tripuraghnaji. Thanks for explaining the purpose of Pratyangira Devi's intervention between Lord Narasimha and Lord Sharabha. As you stated above, the mula mantra of Pratyangira is no ordinary one and actually is the most extreme to practice. But what is the difference between using a mantra other than the root mantra to worship her such as the atmaraksha mantra? What will be the difference between the results accruing from the root mantra and that accruing from a secondary mantra of hers? I am sorry if I am asking too many questions but honestly I do not know anyone apart from you who is duly able to clear doubts on such matters. Your presence here is our good fortune. Thank you.

There is another secret in this Khaḍgamālā. Who was the sage who composed and revealed it? Do you know who Paripūrṇānanda Parāśiva is? It is the 37th Tattva. This name and Lalitāmbika are the same. Lalitāmbika is Paripūrṇānanda Parāśiva, the 37th Tattva. So this Khaḍgamālā was composed and revealed by Lalitā herself. It's a great honor.

Viniyoga says at the end 'śrī mātā devatā'. This is the first name of the Lalitā Sahasranama and it means the Pancadasi Mantra. So Lalitā is saying, "she is me, literally." This Khadgamala is loaded with information. It seems to be great to worship her in Satya Yuga, but in Kali Yuga it seems to be a little tricky to see her making your enemies cry simply because they cursed you. The problem is if these people are friends or people you love. They are not perfect and they can make mistakes with you. I wonder if you would be able to bear to see Pratyangira hit your loved ones hard if they wronged you. They are not perfect and it can happen. That's why I said it's hard to lead a normal life worshiping her. At least you don't have these problems in Satya Yuga.

Since you have been talking about Pratyangira Devi I wanted to ask you this; What really happened when Lord Narasimha went out of control and set out to eradicate the tamo guna from the universe? What really happened between him and Lord Sharabheshwara? And how and why Pratyangira devi intervened? What really happened during these series of events? I would like to know the true story if it is possible for you to say. Thank you.

Namaste. The answer to your question is in Khadgamala itself: 'akhilāṇḍa koṭi brahmāṇḍa nāyike'. You can worship any deity within the Shri Chakra. All Mantras, Yantras and Tantras are contained within the Shri Chakra. Lalitambika is the Mother of the entire World and all the deities within the Shri Chakra are her children at play. Within the Shri Chakra there are deities of varying natures and extents of power and the game can become very dangerous for the universe itself when deities like Sharabha and Gandabherunda start playing at fighting each other. Lalitambika is not very directly involved in these issues. Generally, subsidiary deities who care for the balance of the universe. The extent of Sharabha and Gandabherunda's power is no joke. When the Yoni of the Shri Chakra is in the inverted position, all Lalitambika's children have great freedom to play, just as you too have free will to some extent. When the problem of Sharabha and Gandabherunda arose, it was such a serious problem that it could not be resolved by ordinary means. Then the Yoni of the Shri Chakra was reversed and Lalitambika became a very stern Mother called Maha Pratyangira. In this form she pacified not only Sharabha and Gandabherunda, but also the entire Shri Chakra which is the very form of the multitude of universes, deities and beings and each of their respective worlds and powers. Maha Pratyangira fixed all the damage caused and restored balance to every part of the universes. She is the Supreme Guardian of the Innumerable Universes. When all else fails, she is the last hope. She was born to be Perfect Justice and the one who can oppose all the powers of Shri Chakra when it goes out of balance. Lalitambika cannot have the same severity as Maha Pratyangira, otherwise her children will not be free to play. So Lalitambika and Maha Pratyangira exist simultaneously in the universes for the sake of play and balance of the worlds.

The Lalitā Sahasranāma 999 says: Śiva-śakty-aikya-rūpiṇī. This name is mentioning the 35th and 36th Tattvas. The 37th Tattva is the Parāśiva or Lalitāmbika state. Paripūrṇānanda Parāśiva means Absolute Bliss, Truth and Consciousness. It is an epithet for Lalitāmbika which is Sat-cit-ānanda and Parabrahmasvarūpiṇī.

Maa Guhya is like a hidden dot that connects all other dots in existence. It can give you a complete and extremely detailed description of the universes even before they burst into existence. She is a "mad scientist". She is hidden everywhere and it is impossible to find her. When she wants to communicate with a devotee she takes on different forms which are not her at all. She's the one doing the work behind the scenes but nobody sees. Maa Guhya is the guarantee that everything that is good can become better, and that everything that is bad can become worse, and that everything that is indescribable can become more indescribable, perpetually. Her basic Mantra is "phrem". This Mantra itself is a great mystery. It means something coming from somewhere unknown, but it's always something different that comes from there. She is closely linked to Lalitambika. The essence of beauty is in what is always unknown, in what cannot be fully known. She's like the epitome of beauty, but implicit. She is known as Shakti Pranava.

In the past, when I worshiped Maa Guhya, my most impressive material experience with her was a bolt of lightning coming out of nowhere and hitting a person who wasn't leaving me alone. The lightning hit the person, but did not cause a scratch on her. Maa Guhya just wanted to scare this person and not hurt. This all happened in front of both of us. She said she didn't feel any pain, but that she was scared. So I calmed her down. On this day I better understood Maa Guhya's unpredictable nature.

I cannot express how much over-whelmed I am after reading Tripuraghna Ji's answers. And this also proves why we need higher order sadhakas like Tripuraghna Ji and Krishna Ji to guide the rest of us with their experience. I will totally echo what Tripuraghna Ji said, that Pratyangira should always be the last resort and once you invoke her, you should be able to bear the consequences. I had prayed to Maa Pratyangira to bring me justice. No mantra, no Stavraaj, just a simple, genuine heartfelt request out of extreme sadness to bring me justice. What I didn't know that someone I love was involved, and would go on to face the heat through both physical injury and their respect was tarnished. And for days I couldn't look at myself because I felt those 2 mishaps in their life was a consequence of me being drastic and calling Maa Pratyangira. And as a result directly or indirectly I hurt someone I love, and that was never my intention. So yes, we are humans, with our human expectations and human attachment. Maa Pratyangira is above these trivials and lives in absolute truth and justice. Not all human souls can handle and survive this much clarity. Atleast I couldn't.

Namaste Tripuraghna Ji, Just for knowledge purposes, may i request you to share your valuable insights on my queries to quench my curiosity about Maa. 1. How are Maa Kamakala Kali and Maa Guhya Kali related. According to Mahakaal Samhita they said that they are one and same, just the dhyana form, mantra, etc are different. 2. How are Maa Kamakala Kali and Maa Guhyakali related ? 3. In Mahakal Samhita, Maa Kamakala Kali mentions to Shiva that among all the fierce forms of her, Kamakala Kali is the fiercest, they why did she, as Guhyakali, give rise to Maa Pratyangira ? 4. You have addressed a lot of very rare Vidyas, could you tell us something about Maa Kubjika ? And her relation to Maa Pratyankira as Roudra-Kubjika-Atharvana-Bhadrakali ? 5. This is a personal query, and since my Shri Guru is in higher realms, I am asking this to you. I haven't found my Ishta yet and I believe I am still on the journey. but i feel it will either be Maa Lalitambika as Saubhagya Sundari or Raja-Shayamala. Nowadays, whenever I try to pray, I can only see someone (who looks like Maa Shyamala) but curiously she has 10 hands with weapons and Veena. And she is extremely beautiful, graceful, attractive, blissful and a vivid shade of electric blue (not emerald green how Shyamala and her anga vidyas generally are). Any thoughts ?

This Stotram is ideally meant for those initiated into Her mantras. If you are already initiated, then you may recite it without any fear. The health condition may not be associated with the japa. If this repeats, then stop reciting the Stotram and wait for some more time to see if it is acceptable to the Divine Mother.

Pranaam Krishnaji, I have not been initiated into any of Maa Pratyangira's mantras. I have been given a Siddhi Mantra by Jayantji which I have been chanting for a few months now and I have been following each and every instruction given by him. Other than that, I have been chanting Maa's Sarvarta Sadhaka Kavacham Morning, Evening & Night once each & also Ashtottara Shatnamavali like you had asked me to during evening Puja. I also have a small idol of Maa in my Puja area where I do these recitations. I have not done japa of any of Her mantras other than this, without initiation. I pray to Her daily to show me the way. Ever since I found and read about Maa, it was an instant connection almost as if I have always known about her, when it has only been a few months. I don't know why, but She has become the most important deity to me instantly. I have no explanations to why. None of the other Gods whom I used to pray to earlier, hold that connection as much I have with Maa and quite frankly, sometimes I feel the guilty if I am doing the right thing. It is something that I am still grappling with, even though my devotion & affection for Maa is steady & unwavering. What do you think I should do?

Partly as an experiment, and partly because Śrī Jothi Agaval commented that Mahā Pratyangirā’s root mantra would burn away unnecessary everything, including physical mass (literally I thought it would facilitate my conditioning for rock climbing and bouldering; this seems especially exciting given the favoritism and special bond between Kuja Deva and Pratyangirā, and the mantra does indeed heat a person up and cause elevated metabolism per my little anecdotal experience - literally the meditation with it promptly put my body temp up a bit, which was shocking) I tried reciting the root mantra found her in the pranayama section, along with the full khadgamala stotram. Within not even seven days, everything Śrī Śrī Tripuraghna warned about in the below-pasted comment happened just so. Very shocking. It ended up being rougher and more abrupt and disruptive to my life than I could’ve imagined. Here is the ratna of wisdom he bestowed upon us regarding the Maha Pratyangirā mūla mantra: “ Lastly. I only pray to Lalitambika because it's easier to deal with other souls saying "if you make mistakes I will forgive you most of the time"; instead of: "I will drop a bomb of mass destruction on you if you make a mistake." It won't be your fault, but everyone is struggling to overcome their own sins and they don't want a nuclear bomb pointed at them that will explode if they make a mistake.” I knew I am not sattvic or sufficiently filled with love, and while I took the warning seriously, I also took it as a shortcut to triggering uncanny divine action. I am quite bruised and shaken at the moment. For the sake of stability, I wanted to share to others that these things are very real. In hindsight I lacked faith; now thinking upon the deities in this khadgamala, I am frightened and humbled and awed. This awesome form of Divine Mother really doesn’t make you wait a long time for the result if you approach her with glibness

But, if anyone wishes to harm me through thought or action, let them go to Yama's residence ( Hell)". If you are fit to be her devotee, tears of love will begin to flow from your eyes and a tremendous force of courage will descend upon you. If this happens, look for a guru to guide you on her path.

But I have a hunch that this was all for the best. I’m a hopeless optimist and my head is still spinning from having a big part of my life and plans turned upside down, but already I am seeing new, better paths and opportunities, and maybe thinking a bit more openly and clearly. So I have a question: It seems like, if we can tolerate a lot of turbulence and shock, Mahā Pratyangirā brings the same level of loving motherliness of Lalitā, but her method of care uses creative destruction of circumstances and ego and attachments. & she is rapidly acting and non-compromising. My question is, it kind of seems like there is a wonderful cold shower style shortcut to accelerating one’s life with her mūla mantra, so, if one feels drawn to take the plunge and face the frigid shock, can we eventually count on a better result by throwing caution to the wind & rushing to be in this form of Maha Śakti’s lap? Even if it kills a person in one birth, I have the sense that Mahā Pratyngirā does perhaps the most to rapidly elevate those who seek her. Since the world we perceive while awake and dreaming is just the play and art of Lalitā, and constantly being reformed and optimized for better play, should we really even fret about one birth being wiped out, if it means we may play in a more exciting and conscious and aware manner sooner rather than later with the actions of the fierce universal energy of Atharvana Bhadrakālī?

Namaste. In the main mantra, towards the end, there are names preceded by two mahā, which usually have just one. Mahā mahā Kālī, mahā mahā marī etc. are these more emphatic honorifics for the same shapes of Devi as those with the same name and one mahā, ie Mahā Kālī, Mahā mari (Amman?) etc, or is, for example, Mahā mahā Kālī a more complete and fundamental form of divinity, than Mahā Kālī?
