We now begin the worship of the yantra and its coverings (Āvaraṇas).

  1. Āvaraṇa pūja (आवरण पूज) -

The yantra of Śrī Pratyaṅgirā Devi in Devanāgari is below. The correlation in IAST is also indicated in a table below. The numbers indicated represent the location of the  āvaraṇa deities. :-

Using the direction format of the śrī pūjā, worship the Āvaraṇa-s. Sit facing the Eastern direction and the top of the yantra is now facing the Eastern direction, with the bottom facing the west and ourselves.

Note:- The caturtāri-s “om̐ aim̐ hrīm̐ śrīm̐” apply only to the Āvaraṇa-s 8, 9 and 10. But references do exist in some texts, for applying them to all the Āvaraṇa-s. For consistency, they have been added to all Āvaraṇa-s. One can follow either of the traditions.

  1. Starting from the innermost upward pointed triangle, the first āvaraṇa is worshipped, consisting of the the three forms of the Divine Mother Kāli. Flowers or flower petals from the left hand and the water from the right hand can be used for worshipping the yantra. Pūja is with the flowers and tarpaṇa is with water. Using the deva - pūjā format, start from the geographic South-Eastern direction.
